Sadio Mane’s Feet Compressed, Why Is That?

Amsterdam

Fans Liverpool must be anxious when looking at feet Sadio Mane ice compressed in the match against Ajax Amsterdam. Manager Juergen Klopp has an explanation.

Liverpool faced Ajax in the first matchday of Group C in the Champions League at Johan Cruyff ArenA, Thursday (22/10/2020) early morning WIB. Playing the attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Mane, Liverpool appeared aggressive.

Several times the opportunity was obtained but never became a goal, before Mane’s shot, which actually did not lead to the goal, turned into a goal after hitting Nicolas Tagliafico in the 36th minute.

The goal lasted until the end of the match and Liverpool successfully started the Champions League with a victory. However, there is something blocking Liverpool’s success in winning the three points.

Klopp pulled his front three players together with 30 minutes remaining. As the camera pointed to the bench, Mane was sitting with his right leg iced on by Liverpool medical staff.

This sight is certainly worrying because Liverpool could lose their core players again, amidst a busy schedule until the end of this year. Before this, Virgil van Dijk had left Liverpool, who was sidelined until the season was over, then Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara were not fit to play against Ajax.

If Mane ends up being absent, then Liverpool can be confused because he is a mainstay player. But, Klopp hastily quelled the concern that Mane was only compressed because he had a dead leag.

Dead leg is a condition where muscles and bones hit due to excessive pressure, making it difficult for Mane to walk.

“Sadio has had a dead leg in the last few days. He continues with the injury, that’s the only problem,” Klopp was quoted as saying Liverpool Echo.

“It still hurts but it’s not a big problem. When he’s not playing, he always compresses his legs. That’s all,” continued Klopp.

Sadio Mane has scored four goals in six games in all competitions this season. Liverpool will face Sheffield United this weekend.
