Sadio Mané is another player from Europe who will try his hand at Saudi Arabia. The striker worked at Bayern for just one season. On Tuesday, he was officially introduced as a new signing for Al-Nassr, where he will, among other things, play alongside Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo. In addition to the 31-year-old Senegalese, the club has already acquired Sek Fofana, Marcel Brozovic and Alex Telles.
The transfer amount has not been formally announced, the Munich team should collect around 30 million euros anyway. Mané has signed a contract at the new Asian site until 2027. “We want to thank Sadio for the past year. It was certainly not an easy year for him, he got injured shortly before the World Cup and lost his participation in it with Senegal,” the Munich club said.
Mané came to Bavaria last summer from Liverpool for 32 million euros, but he could not fulfill the expectations placed on him. He played a total of 25 matches in the Bundesliga, scoring seven goals and six assists. He played in 38 games in all competitions and recorded 12 accurate hits. “The season he played was definitely not satisfactory,” said Herbert Hainer, president of Stern des Südens, quite bluntly recently.
Mané should double his salary. If he earned 20 million euros a year in Bayern, his annual salary in Al-Nassr should be 40 million. “I would have liked a different ending. I know that I could have helped the team more in the past year. And I wanted to prove it to everyone in the next one,” he hinted at his early departure in a recent interview for the Sky television company.
