Sadio Mane will join Bayern Munich Next season. The Senegalese bomber left Liverpool as a legend The Reds.
Mane’s contract with Liverpool expires in June 2023. The former Southampton player has already expressed his intention to leave Anfield this summer.
Bayern became the club that most wanted the services of Mane. The Reds have made two offers to sign the 30-year-old striker, but Liverpool have always refused.
Liverpool eventually softened and accepted Bayern’s third offer for Mane. BBC Sports reported that Bayern offered a transfer fee of 32 million euros plus a bonus of up to 9 million euros.
Sadio Mane claimed to have entered into a personal agreement with Bayern Munich. He agreed to a three-year contract at the Allianz Arena.
The agreement also ended Mane’s career at Liverpool. The 2022 African Cup of Nations winners join together The Reds in 2016, and recorded 120 goals and 48 assists from 269 appearances.
Mane also managed to present all major British and European trophies for Liverpool. In the 2021/2022 season, he led Merseyside Red to win the domestic double of the English League Cup and FA Cup.
The news of Mane’s departure was greeted with emotion by the former Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher. He considered Mane to leave the club with the status of a legend.
“My favorite player of this era. Sadio Mane has finally left, minimal treatment but in high form and never injured!” Carragher tweeted on his Twitter account.
“Trophies & goals abound, a true Liverpool legend. Thank you Sadio,” he concluded.
