Sabah FC agree to let go Saddil Ramdani ke Indonesian National Team U-23. But Saddil can only play in the first match of the group stage, semifinal and final SEA Games 2021.
Previously, Sabah had refused to let go Saddil Ramdani with reason SEA Games not the official FIFA agenda. In addition, the agenda was also initially coincided with the schedule for the Malaysian Super League.
In the end the Malaysian Super League will be temporarily suspended starting at the event SEA Games future. The Malaysian Football League (MFL) as the competition operator, took the decision to postpone to support the progress of the U-23 Malaysia National Team at the SEA Games.
Saddil was eventually released by Sabah because there was no longer any reason to detain the former Persela Lamongan. However, Saddil still cannot appear fully at the upcoming SEA Games.
“The player (Saddil) must return to Kinabalu, Sabah, on May 10 because the team will play in the FA Cup and Malaysian Super League against Penang FC on May 17,” wrote PSSI’s official statement.
“After that, Sabah FC will again release Saddil from May 18 to June 15. That means Saddil will pass the Group A phase match against Timor Leste (10/5), Philippines (13/5), and Myanmar (15/5), ” continued PSSI’s statement.
If Indonesia U-23 team enter semifinals, Saddil Ramdani can come back again to defend the team. Because the semifinals will be held on Thursday 19 May. Then the gold, silver and bronze medals will be held on Sunday 22 May.
Apart from that, the General Chairperson of PSSI was quite grateful that Saddil could defend the U-23 National Team. Previously, Iriawan had written to the Malaysian Football Federation (FAM) and Sabah FC.

“Thank you to the President of Sabah FC Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin for allowing Saddil to strengthen the Indonesian U-23 team. Thank you again for your cooperation,” said Iriawan.
