The Southern African Development Community (SADC), which held the 44th Ordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government this weekend in Harare (Mozambique), welcomed the joint organization between Namibia and Germany, the Future Conference which will come together, from September. 22 to 23, 2024, leaders from around the world to discuss issues related to this topic.
“The Conference congratulated the Republic of Namibia for organizing, with the support of the Federal Republic of Germany, on September 22 and 23, 2024, a Future Conference at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York that gathers activities around the theme “Collecting the Future: Multidimensional Solutions for a Better Tomorrow,” revealed a press release issued at the end of the meeting.
The SADC Heads of State and Government “also noted that Namibia represents the ‘Global South'”, and pledged to support its efforts “to amplify the collective voice and inclusively determining the best way forward for the next generation.
This Conference aims to build a new international consensus on how to create a better world for all. Strengthening international cooperation, adopting the Compact for the Future and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, these are the three goals on the table -the business of the Future Conference.
