The Coruña town hall of Now will celebrate next August 2 a reduced version of its Modernist Fair, limited to a single day and with all the security and social distancing measures.
Thus, the scheduled activities will begin on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with the itinerant dances of the Carmen López Dance School and his ‘Modernism in dance’, followed by the ‘Gramola of the Pizárraga brothers’, two Galician brothers who emigrated to the Americas who collected slate records and gramophones, with musical pieces dated from 1887 to the first part of the 20th century.
In addition, one of the hallmarks of this party will not be missing, the Picnic Popular, an invitation to share a picnic in vintage clothing.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the space in the garden will be modified. Each group of cohabitants may bring blankets or tables and chairs, but they must make a prior reservation of space through the channels that the Sada City Council will announce in the coming days.
Also, this year there will be no major concerts, but there will be animation of the space where the Picnic is held. The ‘Dixie kings’ will perform a jazz parade and the ‘Fantastic Circus of Giant Insects of Dr Mezzo’ will perform in the afternoon, to end the day with the modernist concert of the brass quintet of the Municipal band of Sada.
