Sad news. The last Czech gymnastics world champion died

At the age of 81, the last Czech male world champion in gymnastics, Přemysl Krbec, died golden in the 1962 jump from Prague. The Czech Television report on his death to ČTK was confirmed by the Olympians Club.

At the championship in Prague, where he defeated the gymnastic legends Haruhir Yamashita, Jukia Enda and Boris Šachlin in a long jump, Krbec also took part in the team’s bronze. The following year he repeated the triumph at the European Championships in Belgrade, at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo he did not qualify for the finals of the popular discipline.

After finishing his racing career, a native of Litovel founded and led the popular gymnastic group Revmatici, with which he performed at social events and on television. He also worked in the ice magazine Holiday on Ice.
