The report format “Stern TV” accompanied her desolate family for decades. Now the mother of the notorious knight family from Saxony-Anhalt has died.
The life of Karin Ritter and that of her children and grandchildren has been the subject of TV reports since the mid-1990s. Chain smoking on the tile table, yellowed wallpaper, alcoholism and neo-Nazi activities – the Ritter family gave the dreariness a face, most recently Karin Ritter lived largely on the street.
The clichéd existence of the knight was, so to speak, a forerunner for the so-called “social reports” of today. Pure poverty voyeurism with everything that the malicious audience’s heart desires: a disgusting cursing toothless mother with six children of three fathers and boozy neo-Nazi sons with facial tattoos who seem to spend more time behind bars than in freedom. Even Karin Ritter’s grandchildren are accompanied to court hearings by TV cameras.
Now, according to consistent press reports, Karin Ritter has died at the age of 66. Nothing is currently known about the cause of death of the most recently homeless mother from Köthen.
