Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure has won two new contracts in Florida (USA) for a total of 110 million euros. The first consists of the construction of a 5.9 kilometer section of the SR417 highway in Orlando (65 million euros), while the second is for the reconfiguration of the link of the interstate highway I-75 with the highway SR-72 , in the county of Sarasota (45 million euros).
Sacyr’s construction division entered the United States in 2018, with highway construction projects in Florida. Currently, it has two works in Texas and seven in Florida, totaling a portfolio of 940 million euros.
The extension of the SR417 has been commissioned by the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX). The construction company will add one lane per direction, to go from three to four. The project includes the expansion of eight bridges that cross over three local highways.
On the other hand, district 1 of the Florida Department of Transportation seeks to improve the link between the aforementioned I-75 and SR-72 with four lanes in each direction. To this end, Sacyr will widen a 1.5-kilometer section of the SR-72 road by adding one lane in each direction to the three existing ones and a bike lane on each road.
