In early October, a new film premiered in Latvia – Uģ Olte’s debut in the film genre – the mythological thriller “Upurga”. The film was shot in special places in nature, relying on and submitting to the forces of nature. Director and screenwriter Ugis Olte he called this film “the initiation of a young man in front of the most ancient forces of nature”. How the film was made, what trials did the actors and the entire shooting team have to endure – the narrator explores in the special episodes of the series Gustav Terzen. In this series, the locals clearly and brightly point to the mystical place near the river, but Terzen discovers what exactly is the Libyans inhabited Upurga, whose existence is very rarely mentioned in the materials found in the archive and whose existence is discreetly hidden.
Composer Ugis Prauliņš, who plays the Cabbage Man in the film, advises everyone to go their own way and notices that Terzen is already successfully walking on his side. On the other hand, the “director of the river” Raimonds Dombrovskis tells how he trained the actors in correct and safe navigation, and is sure that a person can hide the river.
It has already been reported that the main character of the movie “Upurga” is the adventure guide Andrejs. He loses his sister and his colleagues – a commercial camera crew – in the valley of a wild river. What they don’t know is that a natural phenomenon of insane power blooms in this valley in the fall.
