“My father played cricket and admired Sachin Tendulkar a lot. So he decided to name me Sachin even before I was born,’ said the young Indian batsman.
Sachin also shared his experience of playing with Indian skipper Uday Sahara.
“Playing with Sahar is a great feeling. He brings a lot of positive things to the competition. It benefits me a lot. We continuously discussed what the strategy is about batting till the end of the match,’ Sachin added.
Sachin Das has performed well for India in this World Cup. Sachin scored 294 runs from six innings. The player batted at an average of 73.50 and a strike rate of 116.66.
Sachin Das played a decisive role in the Indian batting line-up in the semi-final against South Africa. Chasing 245 runs, India lost four wickets for 32 runs and were in a state of collapse when Sachin Das appeared as the savior of India.
In the match, Sachin was leading India to victory by teaming up with Indian captain Uday Sahara. Sachindas scored 96 runs and Uday scored 81 runs, India won by two wickets and advanced to the final.
The final of the U-19 World Cup will be held on February 11.
