Salernitana’s director furious with Mourinho. “We have the full right to be treated with dignity”
– With all due respect to Roma, I have to say that what I see here is wicked behavior on a sports level. What is happening on the pitch when we come here to play with Roma is absolutely unacceptable – said Sabatini in an interview with DAZN.
– With each referee’s decision, everyone spills onto the pitch from the bench, it’s unjustified. What do they want judges to do under such circumstances? They reversed the free kick decision? – asks the clearly indignant director. – The referee didn’t even go to see if there should be a penalty kick for Milan Djurica. I know that we can lose with Roma, but not in this way – added the activist Salernitany.
Soccer players of the capital’s team were furious with the referee over two penalty shoot-outs in the first half. One time, no video verification was commissioned, and another case concerns the withdrawal of the “eleven” decision after it was noticed that the foul occurred outside the penalty area.
All this made the atmosphere during the match very tense. There were sharp tensions in the sideline areas. And so Mourinho was prompted by a later apology from Davide Nicola (Salernitana’s coach) and his staff members.
– Sorry Mourinho for just calling it up, because I’ll never reach it, Sabatini said sarcastically. – I know very well that as soon as he hears this he will say that I have never won anything and that is why I cannot comment, but the fact is that I am really pissed. I love my club, we want to stay in A league and we have every right to be treated with dignity. I haven’t won 25 trophies, but I am a serious person and deserve respect. I see arrogance and different levels of treatment.
The director also decided that the free kick from which Roma scored the winning goal should be settled in favor of his club. And he added that it was all the aftermath of the great emotions and screams that reached the referees from the bench of Mourinho’s team. “Judges are nondescript by nature, so it’s easy to get them to change their mind,” concluded Walter Sabatini.
