Sabarimala Congestion Crisis: NSS Blames Government Mismanagement and Calls for Action

Changanassery: NSS General Secretary G. said that the main reason for the congestion in Sabarimala is the mismanagement of the government. Sukumaran Nair. There is a history of many people having darshan before without any difficulty. He also alleged that the lack of experienced officers is the reason for the difficulties that were not experienced then.

There is no proper system to help or control the devotees climbing the 18th step. Where 90 people used to climb the 18th step in a minute, now only 50-60 people can climb it. The delay is the main reason for congestion.

Vehicles of Ayyappa devotees are only allowed to stop. From there you have to take a KSRTC bus to reach Pampa. The buses run the service by charging excessive charges and cramming the devotees. Absence of KSRTC buses is also the reason for increased congestion at the bus stop. If parking facilities are made for small vehicles in Pampa, congestion can be avoided, including at standstill.

Appointing efficient and experienced officials at Sabarimala will solve the sufferings of the devotees. Necessary action is required for that, said the press release.
