In the American city of Cincinnati, the main women’s tennis tournament of the WTA-1000 series is nearing completion. In the semi-finals of the tournament, Belarusian Arina Sabalenka (3rd place in the WTA ranking) played with the first racket in the world, Iga Szwiatek from Poland.
Our athlete was stronger in two sets – 6: 3, 6: 3. Aryna Sabalenka will compete for the title of the tournament in Cincinnati with the winner of the match between American Jessica Pegula (6) and Spanish Paula Badosa (37).
The final match will be held on August 19. Let’s note that Aryna Sabalenka has already promised herself to return the status of the second racket of the world after the end of the tournament in Cincinnati.
