Saarland University appoints new professor specializing in civil law, digitization law and commercial law.

PD dr Dimitrios Linardatos, currently deputy professor for banking and financial market law at the University of Liechtenstein and associate professor at the University of Mannheim, received his certificate of appointment as university professor on March 22, 2023 at the Ministry of Finance and Science.

He studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg from 2005 to 2010 and received his doctorate in 2013 on payment service law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. From 2014 to 2016 he worked as a lawyer in Düsseldorf. In 2016 he took up a position as an academic advisor at the chair of Professor Dr. Georg Bitter, where he habilitated in 2021.

His academic focus is on banking law as well as commercial and corporate law. In addition, he researches primarily on topics of digitalization that have points of contact with banking and capital market law as well as general liability law.

At Saarland University, he will research and teach in the areas of civil law, digitization law and commercial law.
