BTwo locals died when a tractor crashed in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (Pinzgau). The two wanted to take the tractor down a forest path from the Hacklbergalm to the valley. The vehicle came off the path for an unknown reason, rolled over several times and came to rest after around 100 meters at an altitude of 1,650 meters, the police reported on Tuesday afternoon.
The two men, aged 30 and 48, were thrown from the driver’s cab and suffered fatal injuries. The aid organizations, which were notified at around 8 a.m. today, were initially unable to get to the scene of the accident because there was still snow on the path. Therefore, they were brought up with a rescue and a police helicopter. The emergency doctor could only determine the death of the two men there. The Saalbach volunteer fire brigade recovered the crashed vehicle. The police are still investigating exactly when the accident happened and who was driving the tractor.
