Saad Dîne El Otmani receives parliamentarians from the strike-ravaged Fès-Meknès region

The head of government, Saad Dine El Otmani, held a meeting on Saturday evening with a delegation of parliamentarians from the Fez-Meknes region, from different parties (majority and opposition), to discuss the repercussions of the hailstorm which affected the region last June.
This meeting, which takes place at the request of parliamentarians from the region, was devoted to examining the damage suffered by the agricultural sector in the region following this disaster, said a press release from the Department of the Head of Government.
At the start of this meeting, the parliamentarians highlighted the high solicitude of HM King Mohammed VI who gave his High Instructions to the minister responsible to carry out a field visit to the affected areas.
They also expressed their thanks to the head of government who responded favorably to the request to hold this meeting, as well as for the proposals made by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests following his field visit.
The parliamentarians subsequently gave an overview of the enormous damage caused to more than 19,000 hectares following this disaster, which affected fruit, cereals, trees and equipment, in addition to its negative repercussions on the workforce. work, adds the same source.
They have made their proposals to deal with the repercussions on the sector, the press release said, noting that these proposals relate to the aspects of financial, logistical and management support, as well as the insurance and financing components, in order to mitigate the damage. caused to several categories of farmers and other people operating in the agricultural sector.
Saad Dine El Otmani on this occasion expressed his solidarity with the farmers in this ordeal, as well as his esteem and gratitude for their efforts and their hard work for the regular supply of citizens with agricultural products, especially in the exceptional conditions that has known Morocco because of the pandemic of the new coronavirus (Covid-19).
At the end of this meeting, the head of government thanked the parliamentarians for their initiatives and proposals and promised to study them with the Minister of Agriculture and to give them all the interest on the part of the government, concludes the press release.
