The Social Democrats’ party board and district chairman have been called to a crisis meeting this weekend.
According to reports, the January parties are also trying to gather for one last chance to avoid government chaos.
At 10 o’clock on Monday, the Riksdag can fall Stefan Löfven in a vote of no confidence. The Prime Minister and The Social Democrats tries until then to arrive at a panic solution that can be accepted by the Left Party.
– There will be meetings during the weekend, it has been sent out to the party board and the district chairman that you should be on standby, says an S-source with insight.
At the meeting, Stefan Löfven’s options will probably be discussed. One source describes it as having two paths. Either announce extra elections before Monday’s ballot or let the voting take place.
If all parties vote as they said in the vote, the no-confidence motion will go through. Then Löfven has a week to think about his choices.
– If Löfven believes that there are some openings in the stressful situation, that some party can move, there is reason to go for the latter alternative, the source says.

Want to solve the crisis this weekend
Externally, there are no signs that any of the January parties are ready to back down or try to reach a compromise on the proposal that the Left Party wants to stop (free rents for new production or market rents). The proposal is included in the January agreement and both Stefan Löfven and Annie Lööf said in interviews yesterday that it will be implemented.
But according to information to Aftonbladet, an attempt is underway to gather the January parties for a meeting this weekend. This is confirmed by several sources in the four parties. The Green Party’s spokesperson, Minister of Housing Märta Stenevi, also says Swedens radio that she believes that a solution can be found.
Minister of Finance Magdalena Andersson also says that work will be done before Monday to resolve the issue.

An S source tells Aftonbladet that the fact that the Liberals have changed sides and will work for a bourgeois government after the next election can affect the possibilities of reaching a compromise. If L had remained in the January collaboration, their poor opinion figures would have made the Center Party feel pressured to find a solution to save the collaboration, the source says.
– Maybe a housing policy commission, something to add to the long bench after the regular election. Now there is no that pressure on the Center Party, they have good opinion figures and this is an issue that is important to them.
Stefan Löfven said during a press conference yesterday that he will consider his options carefully during the weekend.
