A man who dragged a young woman with him when he fell down the stairs at the Reeperbahn S-Bahn stop and suffered life-threatening injuries himself was seriously intoxicated. “A blood alcohol test carried out in the hospital showed a blood alcohol level of 2.8 per mille for the man involved in the accident,” the federal police said.
According to previous investigations, the 44-year-old had just gone down the stairs at the S-Bahn station on Friday afternoon when he suddenly lost his balance, stumbled and fell headfirst down the stairs. He dragged a 25-year-old woman with him, who also fell headfirst.
According to the information, the 44-year-old broke several ribs, suffered serious head injuries and is now receiving intensive care in a clinic. The woman was also injured, but not life-threatening. She was also taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the 44-year-old on suspicion of negligent bodily harm, as the federal police announced. Third-party negligence could be ruled out after viewing the video recordings from a surveillance camera in the S-Bahn station.
