S-Bahn from Baden to Zurich? That’s what the Federal Council says.

A new S-Bahn line from Baden to Zurich? What the Federal Council thinks of this idea

The disused railway line from Dättwil to Baden’s Oberstadt train station is to be used again for passenger transport, demands FDP Councilor Thierry Burkart. He submitted a request to the Federal Council – the Federal Council has now responded.

Passenger trains ran to Baden-Dättwil until 2004. The route still exists today, but only as an alternative route for freight traffic.

A new S-Bahn line from Dättwil via Oberstadt station to Zurich: Several politicians are currently campaigning for this idea. The idea: The train connection could be implemented on the route that was used by SBB passenger trains until 2004 and is now only used as an alternative route for freight trains. From the point of view of many people in Baden, it is absurd that a route parallel to the congested Mellingerstrasse is almost not used.
