As the district prosecutor of Rzeszów, Wojciech Przybyło, recalled in the press release, “tragic events” took place on Friday at around 6.30 between apartment blocks in one of Rzeszów housing estates.
According to the prosecution, the man first went to the woman’s apartment. There, there was a brawl between them and the victim. Then, after leaving the block, he attacked his ex-partner with a kitchen knife. He struck her 12 blows.
– One of the blows aimed at the woman’s chest pierced her heart, which resulted in a massive hemorrhage and, as a result, her death – prosecutor Przybyło said in a press release.
The neighbors, who had heard the woman’s cry for help, called her to the place of service, who, however, failed to restore the woman’s vital functions. The knife used by the perpetrator was thrown by him and found by investigators during an examination close to the woman’s body.
Arkadiusz M. drove away in an Audi car after the murder. Soon after, he caused two road collisions involving another vehicle and damaged the fence of one of the properties. After the second collision, he abandoned the car. He was arrested before 9.
On Saturday, the man was charged with the “murder of a woman committed under the conditions of recidivism”. – The suspect fully confessed to the alleged offense and provided extensive explanations – the prosecutor’s office informed.
The 42-year-old had previously been convicted of crimes against property, life and health, and against sexual freedom. He served many years of imprisonment. He left the prison in February this year.
