On the other hand, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D basically has no direct rival in the Core i9-12900KS processor, as these are the prices of 449 and 739 USD, which is a really big difference and the 12900KF will come to 564 USD. In terms of prices, the Core i9-12900F processor (USD 464) should be compared to the new Ryzen. However, it’s just a matter of who will have the most powerful processor for the games, and in that regard, the price goes a little.

The XanxoGaming server performed two types of tests, which differ in resolution, namely 1080p and 720p, again using a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition card. With scratched ears, we could only recognize 1080p (Full HD) tests, which can be appreciated by people armed with a monitor with a fast refresh rate. However, 720p tests can be described as meaningless, or better perhaps synthetic, which means that they can better show the difference in processor performance, but they have little to do with reality.
Even in Full HD, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti itself will often form a bottleneck, which simply means that it doesn’t make sense to use a more powerful processor anyway, especially if we don’t even play at such a low resolution. But that is a generally well-known reality.
The test results in Full HD turned out either as shown by the title Borderlands 3 or as shown by The Witcher 3. So either the tested processors are more or less the same, or Ryzen 7 5800X3D leads, which also applies to the mentioned SoTR and moreover Final Fantasy XV or Middle Earth Shadow of War.

At 720p, the difference in FPS may deepen, as the following chart shows, but there are still plenty of games in which both processors have comparable performance, so in their case, even a significant reduction in resolution means nothing.

The tests show that the V-Cache in the new Ryzen is really very useful, especially for games, and it can be much faster thanks to it. Then, of course, there is the question of whether and for whom such a powerful processor will be useful at all, when the performance will still be limited by the graphics card.
