Rytas, which dominated the attack, won from Jonava

Vilnius “Rytas” (23-6) showed impressive shooting at the beginning of the match, later faced opposition from the opponents, but in the end added to the dowry of victories in the “Betsafe-LKL” championship.

The pupils of Giedrias Žibėnas managed to beat CBet of Jonavas (15-14) 106:81 (23:17, 31:23, 21:21, 31:20).

The Jonava club lost for the fifth time in the last six matches. It can be expensive, as Klaipėda Neptūnas (14-15) is hot on its heels in seventh place. Meanwhile, the people of Vilnius take second place. The closest to them is Alytus “Wolves” (20-9).

“Rytas” entered the field after the break and started crushing the Jonavis (64:45), but Jeffery Garrett, who is often the leader of “CBet”, reminded himself of himself. He scored as many as 11 points in a short stretch, so the home team got much closer – 57:68. Giedrius Žibēnas reacted by asking for a break, after which Glynn Watson was accurate, so “CBet” recovered a single-digit deficit after a long break – 59:68. At the end of three quarters, “Rytas” had somewhat stabilized the situation – 75:61.

Jonava’s team still had a lot of time to save themselves, but the hopes of the people of Vilnius were dashed – 83:63. 8 minutes remained, during which CBet did not recreate the intrigue. Mantas Gezevičius, representative of the hosts, and Modestas Babraitis, representing the guests, also got a chance to step on the dance floor, scoring points on their debut.
