The entrepreneur presented the carrier’s plans for the next year. However, he admitted that the actions of the Polish government may slow down the development of Ryanair in Poland. According to O’Leary, the idea of building an airport in Radom is unsuccessful.
– PPL is doing a very bad job when it comes to Modlin, but soon they will certainly realize that there is no other way than expansion. We know that it is not about money, because we offered to finance the expansion of the terminal. But soon they will change their mind – they will see that it is impossible to function when Chopin airport and Modlin are completely clogged – he said.
Although Stanisław Wojtera, president of the management board of Przedsiębiorstwo Państwowe “Porty Lotnicze”, would like Ryanair to fly from the airport in Radom, the Irish company rules out such a solution. – We will never fly from Radom. Building an airport in the middle of nowhere is one of the stupidest ideas in the history of Poland, which resembles the actions of communists in the 1950s. Instead of investing in Modlin, the Polish government is wasting billions of taxpayers on the construction of a palace that no one will fly from. Will LOT move to Radom? Not. And Ryanair has no intention of doing that either, O’Leary said.
