Apparently in Europe sees the light at the end of the tunnel and its citizens could enjoy a more “normal” summer season. For its part, the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair is celebrating due to the end of the sanitary restrictions and because the Spanish Government will put an end to the state of alarm. To celebrate, May trips with Ryanair could cost the same as two beers.
The low-cost airline launched a campaign with considerably cheap prices for the entire month of May. Marking the 9th as the date that will have the greatest impact on the number of travel reservations, according to the newspaper CincoDías. “If there are fewer restrictions, people can move more freely.” With its slogan “last minute trips”, Ryanair sells flights to national destinations such as Seville, Vitoria and Barcelona from 4.99 euros (6 US dollars or the equivalent of two beers). The condition is that the purchase is made before April 30.
Not only would routes originating in Spain have the benefit of the fare, but the airline also included international destinations such as the United Kingdom. This coincides with the possible end of travel restrictions announced by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, which would end on May 17. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ryanair would increase the frequencies on its flights from Lanzarote and Barcelona to London. Something that took future passengers by surprise is that prices can be less than 10 euros (12 dollars).
The Ryanair initiative would promote the recovery of air traffic in Europe as destinations such as Toulouse, Frankfurt and Budapest would also cost around 10 euros for a single trip. The airline estimates that the highest ticket sales will be during July although the summer season could be expected to be extended due to advances in vaccination programs. Likewise, the Air Lines Association (ALA) foresees recovery for this year; estimates that airlines with flights in Spain could reach 58% of the flights they had before the pandemic.
