CR7 wasn’t always in control of his emotions on Tuesday. A freak out was found food for Ryanair.
WHAT HAPPENED? Ryanair took advantage of an outburst by Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday to target Portugal’s Al-Nassr star via social media.
WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND? During the 3-1 win over Ahba in the Kings Cup of Champions, CR7 was furious when the referee stopped a promising counterattack to whistle at half-time. Furious, he grabbed the ball and threw it across the field in a high arc. The multiple world footballer saw a yellow card for this action.
Ryanair, which in the past has also poked fun at Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona) and Jadon Sancho from Man United, among others, tweeted from his official account, a response to the scene in which a ball sails past one of his planes above the clouds.
It is not the first time in recent days that Ronaldo has publicly displayed his displeasure. Last Friday, after losing to arch-rival Al-Ittihad, he kicked aside some water bottles.
THE TWEET ABOUT THE NEWS:
A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS: Ronaldo has made eight appearances for Al-Nassr since his spectacular move to Saudi Arabia. The 38-year-old scored eight goals. He also gets two assists.
HOW TO NEXT: Ronaldo and his teammates have a quick reunion with Ahba. Al-Nassr meets twelfth in the table in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.
