The regular connection from Mošnov to Stansted Airport has been in operation since 2013, between 2016 and 2019 Ryanair also flew from Ostrava to Bergamo.
On Thursday, March 23, the low-cost airline Ryanair celebrated its half-millionth passenger on the Ostrava-London route. The milestone comes at a time when the carrier is also celebrating its 10th year of operation at Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport. Regular connections from Mošnov to Stansted Airport have been flying since 2013, between 2016 and 2019 Ryanair also connected Ostrava with Bergamo.
„The airline company Ryanair is a very important partner for us and we are pleased that the line to London is a stable product. The connection to London is very popular, as evidenced by the fact that, after 10 years of Ryanair operating at the airport, today we can celebrate already half a million checked-in passengers.” said Jaromír Radkovský, general director of Ostrava Airport.
Ryanair currently flies between Ostrava and London Stansted Airport twice a week. At the end of March, the flight schedule will be adjusted, new flights will be made every Wednesday and Sunday. The dates should thus suit work trips or long weekends. The airline expects to transport an additional 34,000 passengers on this route this year alone.
Polish LOT also flies regularly from Ostrava. Leoš Janáček Airport is connected five times a week by the airline to its Warsaw hub, from where passengers can continue to virtually the entire world within the framework of a single reservation. During the season, the Ostrava airport offers holiday flights to many popular tourist destinations. In a fundamental way, cargo traffic is also represented in Ostrava, the airport has regular cargo lines and wide-body cargo planes from all over the world often land there.
