Wrexham co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have shown their class by donating to a GoFundMe campaign created after the tragic death of a newborn baby at the club.
Wrexham star Jordan Davies and his partner suffered the loss during childbirth in December, and the defender shared the dire news on social media in recent weeks.
“We never got to spend our lives with you, but you have left a great mark on our hearts, forever. Heaven has won a perfect little angel! ” he wrote.
A fundraising page was created with the aim of raising funds for Sands UK (Neonatal Death and Death Society), which helps grieving parents.
The initial target was set at £ 1,500, but it was immediately overshadowed when co-owners McElhenney and Reynolds donated £ 10,000 to the cause.

“Rob, Kaitlin, Ryan and Blake for Arthur,” read his donation message.
One social media user shared the news on Twitter and wrote: “Wow @RMcElhenney and @VancityReynolds donating £ 10,000 to fundraiser for @ jordandavies98 and @KelseyEdwards_ baby boy. What incredible people, football is much more than a game.
McElhenney had already reached out to Davies after the tragic death, offering his support from across the pond.
The ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ star responded by saying that he and his wife Kaitlin Olson were “very sorry” for their loss, and even urged the player to contact him if they ever needed anything.
McElhenney and Reynolds surprised the world after buying the Welsh club in November 2020.
The deal was endorsed by 98.6 percent of the 2,000 members of the Wrexham Supporters Trust and was officially completed in February 2021.
Despite their hectic schedules and performance commitments, Wrexham fans have been in awe of how much the duo have shone in the club and home area.
