Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal Lead Sci-Fi

Sony Pictures has released the first two trailers for the sci-fi horror thriller Life , just in time for Halloween. Written by scribes Deadpool and Zombieland Rhett Reese y Paul Wernick, the film revolves around the six crew members of the International Space Station who come into contact with the first evidence of biological life on Mars: a small unicellular organism. However, when they start looking for the specimen, this “life” turns out to be much more dangerous than they ever imagined.

The cast of this thing is formidable, with Jake Gyllenhaal at the head of a set that includes Mission: Impossible – Rebel Nation Escape Rebecca Ferguson , Hiroyuki Sanada, Olga Dihovichnaya, Ariyon Bakare y Ryan Reynolds. What’s interesting about these trailers, both domestic and slightly scarier / better international, is that the movie embraces the lack of gravity in space, refusing to create a spell, the simulated gravity device that allows actors to move normally. Like The Martian y Gravity, there is a lot of weightlessness involved, and I’m curious to see A. If the whole movie lasts and B. I have.

From a story point of view, the movie looks almost promising. Director Daniel Espinosa was successful as a filmmaker: he directed the 2012 thriller starring Reynolds Safe House and the star of 2015. Child 44 – but with Life, you might embrace the horror genre in full force. The participation of Reese and Wernick is certainly curious, and I am very interested to see what kind of tone the film has in general. If this is a sci-fi horror movie in the vein of Event Horizon, much better.

Discover Watch the two trailers below. Life hits theaters on May 26, 2017.
