Ryan Reynolds hires LeVar Burton for the aviation gin ad after the success of Jeopardy. Bell

It’s been a hectic week for former Star Trek star LeVar Burton. Fans have been asking for some time that he should be among the guest hosts featured on Jeopardy! with people like Ryan Reynolds rallying around him to show their support. The game show’s executive producers have confirmed that Burton will be among the final guest hosts to perform throughout the year. Not satisfied with securing LeVar a job at Sony Pictures Television, Reynolds has announced that he is campaigning for him to participate in “literally everything,” which apparently begins with an advertisement for Reynolds’ Aviation Gin company.

“Everybody’s been saying how great LeVar Burton is,” Reynolds says at the beginning of the ad. “So I decided to have him intervene in my place as the spokesperson for Aviation Gin.” Then Burton appears on the screen by a pool, showing his ad that reads: “The smooth and refreshing taste of Aviation American gin for an out of this world gin and tonic. Reynolds adds, “That man is a bloody national treasure, and he’s probably too good for this.” The ad goes black and the pair joke back and forth with Burton hinting that he is inside Reynolds’ head. Check it out below!

When it was confirmed that Burton was the host of Jeopardy !, Reynolds showed his support by writing “This must be a permanent gig.”

“THANK YOU… to all of you for your passionate support! I am delighted, excited and eager to host Jeopardy! And I will do my best to live up to your faith in me. ONE DIFFERENCE! Go ahead, take my word for it, this time, ”Burton said on Twitter. “A special thanks to Joshua Sanders, who initiated the petition.”

This Aviation Gin announcement also marks another wildly fast move from Reynolds, having been part of a 4/20 themed announcement for HighKey earlier this week. The actor has run a variety of ads for his companies, including one for Mint Mobile that brought Rick Moranis out of retirement and another that featured a Gary Busey cameo. His advertising company, Maximum Effort, also recently did a fun Match.com commercial. The actor even appeared on the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine and talked about his advertising philosophy.

“We really are risk averse. So people really think we like to shoot from the hips, because we move so fast and that sort of thing, “Reynolds said. “But, we really thought about all this. We really found our railings. In the same way I write Deadpool. It’s like, ‘Okay, what is a person oversensitive to this type of material going to say?’ What’s the guy who just doesn’t give a damn what I’m going to say? I want to find the medium in which everyone feels seen in that.
