The ‘Deadpool’ star underwent the surgery along with his friend Rob McElhenney, to emphasize the importance of this surgery in detecting cancer.

Ryan, a father of three with actress Blake Lively, joked that he would only agree to publish the procedure if Rob learned Welsh.

“It’s a simple step that could literally, and I mean literally, save your life,” the performer said in a video he shared on YouTube.

After his 30-minute rectal exam, the doctor told Ryan that an “extremely thin polyp” had been found, so the procedure could save his life: “I’m not joking, I’m not being dramatic. That’s exactly why. so it’s already done. You had no symptoms, “the specialist said.

The doctor told Ryan after removing the growth that he had disrupted “the natural history of a process that could have turned into cancer and caused all kinds of problems.”

For his part, Rob had three polyps, but was told they “weren’t a big deal”.

The video was produced in collaboration with Lead from Behind and Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
