“Ryan Garcia’s Future Plans: Eyeing Rematch with Gervonta Davis at 140 or 147lbs”

Ryan Garcia is already eyeing a future rematch with Gervonta Davis.

‘KingRy’ suffered a KO loss to his longtime rival, who slugged him with a vicious body shot in the seventh round of their Grudge match in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

It was the first loss of Garcia’s career and one he is already looking to recover due to his social media activity following the loss that dropped him to 23-1 as a professional boxer.

“Of course I’m disappointed after the fight. I tried my best, he caught me with a good body shot,” he said in a video posted to Instagram.

“I’m going to come back stronger and hopefully one day after I’ve gotten a couple of wins we can do a rematch at maybe 140 or 147lbs.

“Thanks guys for all the support, love you guys.”

While Garcia suffered his first career loss, things could have been worse.

Ahead of the highly anticipated pay-per-view fight, he and Davis agreed that the winner would walk away empty-handed from the biggest fight of his life.

However, with no deal signed to legalize things, ‘Tank’ decided against trying to take Garcia’s purse, telling media outlets ‘He can keep it’ as he spoke during his post-fight press conference after the bet was asked.

After extending his perfect record to 29-0 in a 136-pound catchweight bout with Garcia, Davis is expected to return to lightweight where big fights await.

All four major 135-pound titles are at stake when undisputed champion Devin Haney and two-time Olympic gold medalist Vasyl Lomachenko go head-to-head on May 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

‘Tank’ could be up against the winner of this battle for all the light marbles, or go head to head with the division’s newest contender Shakur Stevenson or former unified champion George Kambosos Jr.

As for Garcia, he seems poised to step up back to super lightweight.

Already listed in the top 15 in the WBC and IBF at 140 pounds, the 24-year-old will now be looking to return to the Victory Column before deciding which title to aim for.

Regis Prograis, Teofimo Lopez, Josh Taylor, Jack Catterall and Ohara Davies are just a few of the fighters he could match at weight for years to come.
