RVS / LU volleyball players in Israel lose first game in CEV Challenge Cup / Article

The answer match will take place on Thursday, when the two teams meet again in Kefarsava. The team that is superior in the sum of two games will advance to the 1/16 final.

Initially, RVS / LU planned to hold a response game in Latvia, however, after the introduction of the “arcade”, the Israelis agreed to offer both games away. It would be difficult to organize an epidemiologically safe bubble in Riga, so the team refused to take advantage of the home field.

Kristaps Chernavskis, the director of the Riga Volleyball School (RVS), gave the role of duel to the Israeli unit before the game, because Kefarsava’s “Hapoel”, unlike its opponents, is a completely professional club, and with four legionnaires, the Latvian Volleyball Federation said.

RVS / LU participates in the CEV Challenge Cup for the third season in a row, but so far it has not been further than the first round. RVS / LU is the only Latvian volleyball team that participates in one of the three CEV club tournaments in the 2021/2022 season. The CEV Challenge Cup is a third level tournament after the Champions League and CEV Cup.
