Singer Ruth Jacott has decided to release her single Beer and Wine one week after release. The singer finds the song “no longer appropriate” after the corona measures announced on Tuesday, her record label Toekomst Music announced on Wednesday.
When the corona virus seemed more under control, the singer wanted to release a positive song. Shortly before release, however, the situation deteriorated rapidly.
After Tuesday’s press conference, it was decided to Beer and Wine to withdraw. “At a time when many have been affected and duped by COVID-19 and its measures, this single does not feel appropriate,” said the singer.
The single and video will be re-released when the prospects are brighter “and there is really something to celebrate”.
