Rustem Tatar will be commemorated at his grave tomorrow

Rüstem Tatar will be commemorated with a ceremony to be held tomorrow, the second anniversary of his death.

According to the written statement made by the Presidency, a commemoration ceremony will be held at the Nicosia Cemetery at 10.30 for Rüstem Tatar, who has served in the Turkish Resistance Organization and the national struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people and served in many positions, especially in the ministry for many years.

The ceremony, which will be organized by the Tatar Family, will be attended by President Ersin Tatar, son of Rüstem Tatar, family members, relatives and fans.

Rüsem Tatar’s biography

According to the information given by the Presidency, Tatar’s resume is as follows:

“Rüstem Tatar was born on October 23, 1930 in Yakacık village of Paphos.

Rüstem Tatar, who completed his primary education in 1941, graduated from the Cyprus Turkish-Islamic Boys’ High School in 1947 with the first rank.

Rüstem Tatar, who passed all 8 stages of the London Matrucilation exam in 1948 with the first place, graduated from Nottingham University, Department of Finance and Economics with the first place in 1951.

While Rüstem Tatar took part as a consultant in the Turkish Cypriot delegation in the negotiations that led to the formation of the Republic of Cyprus, he became the first President of the Turkish Court of Accounts of the Republic of Cyprus, which was established in 1960 with the equal partnership of the Turkish and Greek people.

Rüstem Tatar was the Minister of Finance and Budget Affairs in the Provisional Turkish Cypriot Administration, the Turkish Cypriot Administration and the Autonomous Turkish Cypriot Administration during the period 1967-1975, and with the appointment of the Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş, the Committee of Missing Persons, which served under the supervision of the UN in 1984-2005. He served as the Turkish Cypriot Representative of Turkey.

Rüstem Tatar, who is also the chairman of the TRNC Chartered, Certified and Certified Public Accountants Association, has provided consultancy to the government on many issues after 2005. Rustem Tatar passed away on April 24, 2021.”
