Russian dictator Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could discuss possible negotiations with Western countries, which, in particular, will concern Ukraine.
“The question of the possibility of Russia’s negotiations with the United States, France, Germany and Great Britain could be discussed with Erdogan,” he said.
The leaders of the two countries can discuss this issue during their meeting in Astana. When exactly it can take place is not reported.
What are the negotiations about?
Last week, Turkish presidential adviser Ibrahim Kalin said Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to strike a “new big deal” with the West. Presumably it will partly concern Ukraine.
The Turkish media later wrote it Ankara wants to organize talks between Western countries and Russia and a corresponding proposal has already been presented in Washington. The United States, in turn, would have “commented positively” on such a move.
Also, the Turkish leader Erdogan believes that “the worst peace in Ukraine is better than war”.
At the same time, the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, in response to information about the negotiations, said that Russia does not want peace with Ukraine. According to him, proof of this is the continuous bombing of Ukrainian cities, as a result of which civilians die.
