The media recalls that on June 27, Putin admitted for the first time that the Russian state fully provided for Wagner PMCs. According to the president, from May 2022 to May 2023, 86 billion rubles were allocated from the Russian budget for the maintenance of PMC members and incentive payments, as well as another 110 billion rubles for insurance payments. Later, Kremlin propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov said that PMC Wagner received a total of more than 858 billion rubles under government contracts.
The Wagner PMC itself runs the risk of being included in the list of terrorist organizations, and then it will not even be necessary to look for its main sponsor.
Europe is already discussing the recognition of Wagner as a terrorist organization. In May, the French parliament adopted a resolution demanding that PMCs be included in the official list of EU terrorist organizations. In June, MEPs confirmed that the EU was preparing to designate the Wagner as terrorists.
