Russian Dream Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the United States and European countries are currently facing challenges in securing funds for Ukraine, TASS quoted.
“As for the talk that it’s time to cut aid to Ukraine, we’ve heard it. And it’s not just talk, as both Europe and the US are already having serious difficulties finding additional money to continue supporting the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who clearly did not live up to expectations”, he pointed out at a press conference with his Belarusian colleague Serhiy Aleynik after a joint meeting of the board of the foreign ministries of the two countries, quoted by News.bg.
Lavrov explained that the regime in Kiev “failed to play the role of an instrument to undermine Russia’s security and erase our common history and culture, as well as to eliminate everything Russian in the areas it continues to control.”
He called on NATO and the European Union to stop supporting Zelensky’s team and called this support a “dead end”. Lavrov also called on Ukraine to agree to peace talks as soon as possible.
Earlier this week, during his annual speech, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine could be determined through “talks or through the use of force.”
