Russia’s Missile Attack in Ukraine: Eight Dead, Including Civilians

According to several eyewitnesses in the area, the missile hit killed and injured a number of emergency responders.

Two rescue workers and one military personnel were reportedly among the dead. About 31 other people, mostly civilians, were injured. Nine policemen and one other military personnel were among those injured in the attack.

A Pokrovsk resident, Kateryna (58), said she was at her house when she heard the first explosion and thought she had avoided the attack. But suddenly, a second attack hit the area where he lived.

“There was an explosion — and that was it. The fire filled my eyes. I fell to the floor, on the ground. My eyes hurt a lot,” he told Reuterswhile showing the scars around his eyes and the bandages covering his forehead.

Video footage from the area showed rescue workers inspecting rubble, wrecked cars and apartment buildings with collapsed balconies.
