The Russian military-industrial complex is ramping up production of a wide range of long-range strike weapons and other capabilities that will allow Russia to fight a long, high-intensity war.
This is stated in the annual report American intelligence community assessing the threats facing the United States of America. The document notes that Russia has already lost about 300 thousand soldiers in the war, as well as thousands of tanks and armored fighting vehicles.
In addition, the invaders faced and would continue to face problems of attrition, manpower, and morale. However, the use of mines, prepared defensive positions and indirect fire helped them contain the offensive actions of the Ukrainian army last year.
“However, this impasse plays into Russia’s military-strategic advantages and tilts the situation increasingly in Moscow’s favor. The Russian defense industry is significantly increasing production of a wide range of long-range strike weapons, artillery ammunition and other capabilities that will allow it, if necessary, to wage a long-term, high-intensity war,” the report says.
It is indicated that since the end of 2023, the Russian occupation army has been achieving new successes on the battlefield, and is also taking advantage of the uncertainty regarding the future of Western military assistance to Ukraine.
