On the morning of January 8, Russia launched another combined attack on Ukraine. In particular, the invaders fired missiles at Krivoy Rog.
It was one of the most massive attacks on the city since the start of the full-scale invasion. The enemy used both cruise missiles and ballistics.

Glass flew
A resident of one of the 200 apartment buildings damaged by the Russian strike described how she faced the enemy attack.
The woman noted that when the first explosion was heard, she did not understand what was happening.
I thought that it was the neighbor who hit me from behind the wall. Well, then the second explosion – the glass flew. Of course, fear. An old grandmother, almost lying down, walking on two sticks,
– says a resident of Krivoy Rog.
The woman says that in those moments, first of all, she was worried about the children, who also live in the city. Not knowing where exactly the “arrival” took place worried her very much.

What is known about the dead and wounded
Local authorities said that at least 9 rocket attacks were carried out on the city. One person died. This is a 62 year old woman. Also three people were injured, but not seriously.
In addition, the enemy hit a number of civilian infrastructure facilities. Among them:
- shopping mall;
- 20 private houses and more than 200 apartment buildings, 3 schools, Tercenter, windows, balconies;
- lines and contact network of high-speed trams;
- 300 windows in two hospitals; patients were transferred to other wards.
The head of the military administration of Krivoy Rog, Alexander Vilkul, said that the shopping center is subject to restoration, but it is too early to draw preliminary conclusions. At the same time, the light rail tracks are very crowded. It will take a week to recover.
Another massive attack on Ukraine: what is known
- On the night of January 8 and in the morning, the occupiers launched 8 Shaheds and various types of missiles across Ukraine: Iskanders, cruise missiles, guided aircraft missiles, aeroballistic Daggers, as well as S-300/S-400 from the Belgorod region. In total, the enemy used 59 air assets to attack.
- Air defense operated in the regions of Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Zaporozhye, and Khmelnitsky regions. The air defense forces managed to shoot down all the drones, as well as 18 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles.
- Another massive Russian attack claimed the lives of 4 people and injured 38. It is known that among the dead were two residents of the Khmelnitsky region. One person died in Krivoy Rog. Another was killed in the Kharkov region.
