Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – Israel will ban Russian planes from landing

Israel forbade planes of Russian oligarchs, who fell under US sanctions, from landing on its territory. The corresponding order was given to Israeli airports.

The Israel Airports Authority has instructed Ben Gurion Airport personnel not to allow long-term parking of private jets belonging to Russians under US sanctions. Media reports say this is to prevent them from hiding in Israel in an attempt to circumvent sanctions.

A similar order was given to the ports where the Russian oligarchs, who fell under the sanctions, will not be able to moor their yachts.

“We should not be seen as a country through which sanctions can be circumvented,” an unnamed Israeli official told the news site.
