KIEV, KOMPAS.TV – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his warnings had been true all along.
He stressed that Russia’s attack on Ukraine was a start, and that President Vladimir Putin would move to take control of other countries.
Zelensky said this to comment on the statement of the Deputy Commander of the Russian Central Military District, Rustam Minnekayev.
He said controlling southern Ukraine would open the way to the separatist Transistria region of Moldova.
Minnekayev said the Russian-speaking people of the region had been oppressed, and they would help the rebels in Transistria.
“So this confirms what I’ve been saying all along. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is just the beginning, then they will annex other countries,” Zelensky said, Friday (4/22/2022) quoted from BBC.
“Of course, we will defend ourselves as long as it takes to crush the ambitions of the Russian Federation. But all nations like us, who believe in the victory of life over death must fight with us.”
“They have to help us, because we are the first on this road. And who’s next?” Zelensky said.
Zelensky also said anyone who wants to stay neutral because they don’t want to lose anything will make the riskiest bet.
