Russia’s invasion of Ukraine condemned in Britain and threatened Putin

The head of the British Ministry of Defense, Ben Wallace, compared Russian President Vladimir Putin with the Russian Tsar Nicholas I. According to him, the head of the Kremlin will make a mistake if he goes into conflict with the West.

“The Scottish Guards kicked Tsar Nicholas I in 1853 in the Crimea. We can always repeat this. Tsar Nicholas I made a mistake, which Putin has now made. He had no friends, no allies,” the Defense Minister said.

In his statement, he had in mind the Crimean War (1853-1856), when the Royal British Infantry Regiment kept the city of Sevastopol under siege. The battle lasted 349 days.
