As noted in the defense department, the redeployment of the Canadian military from Ukraine to other European countries is associated with a difficult operational situation caused by the threat of Russian invasion. The Ministry of Defense stressed that they are withdrawing their military temporarily.
“The movement of personnel of the Joint Task Force – Ukraine (JTF-U) does not mean the end of the mission, but allows you to refocus efforts, while ensuring the safety of representatives of the Canadian Armed Forces,” the agency said.
The Canadian Ministry of Defense did not name either the number of troops being withdrawn from Ukraine or the country where they were relocated.
