Russia is facing an acute dilemma in Ukraine: Should they strengthen the defense lines along the border or at the front line?
This is what the British Ministry of Defense writes in its intelligence update on Friday.
– Russian leaders are faced with an acute dilemma whether they should strengthen the defense lines in Russia’s border regions or strengthen their lines in the occupied Ukraine, the British write.
It is attacks in particular on the Russian border region of Belgorod that create this dilemma. Ukraine has attacked the region several times, and there are also reports that Russian groups supported by Ukraine have done so.
According to the intelligence report, Belgorod was attacked again on Thursday, for the second time in ten days.
– In a complex situation on the battlefield, it appears that an air strike also hit the town of Belgorod 35 kilometers into Russia, while the authorities evacuated civilians from the border town of Shebekino after Ukrainian shell fire, the British write.
