Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Invasion Russia to Ukraine has entered the 11th day on Sunday (6/3). A number of countries have tried to mediate the conflict between the two camps.
The Israeli prime minister is known to have met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin, while India has also urged the two countries for a ceasefire. Meanwhile, the United States chose to promise aid for Ukrainian refugees who had lost their homes and took refuge in refugee camps.
The ceasefire itself was enforced by Russia and Ukraine in two cities and imposed a refugee route for civilians.
The following summarizes the latest developments in Russia’s attack on Ukraine to date.
1. US Secretary of State Visits Ukrainian Refugees
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visits a crossroads on Poland’s border with Ukraine. He also visited a Polish shelter with 3,000 Ukrainian refugees affected by the Russian invasion.
“The Polish people know how important it is to defend freedom,” he said after talks with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau in the nearby town of Rzeszow in southeastern Poland, Saturday (5/3).
“Poland is doing an important job in responding to this crisis,” Blinken said.
2. Putin Threatens Countries to Implement No-Fly Zones in Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that any country that attempted to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine would be deemed by Moscow to have entered the conflict.
“Any movement in this direction we will consider as participation in armed conflict by the country,” Putin said during a meeting with Aeroflot employees.
Putin added that imposing a no-fly zone would have “colossal and catastrophic consequences not only for Europe but for the whole world”.
Putin also dismissed rumors that Russia was planning to declare martial law with a military offensive in Ukraine which has entered its second week.
“Military law should only be introduced in cases where there is external aggression … we are not experiencing it at the moment and I hope we will not be,” Putin said.
