Russia’s chairmanship of the CIS in 2024 will be aimed at developing cooperation with other international organizations, as well as minimizing the negative effects of Western sanctions. This concept was published by the Kremlin.
“The chairmanship will be aimed at ensuring continuity in the activities of the Commonwealth and achieving the following goals: further strengthening the CIS as an integration association, developing cooperation between the Commonwealth and other international organizations,” says the text of the concept, which was published on website Kremlin. The document also contains a clause on minimizing the negative effect of Western sanctions. This task has become one of the priorities.
In addition, the Russian Federation will work to popularize common spiritual and moral values in the CIS, as well as patriotic education. Import substitution and expansion of trade turnover were also included in the concept.
On January 1, Russia began its chairmanship in the CIS. Last year, this role was occupied by Kyrgyzstan, which carried out active work, as noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports RT.
