Russia’s Big Loss for Moving to Luhansk

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Military Ukraine claim Russia suffered significant losses while moving to the Luhansk and Donetsk borders, especially in terms of human resources and equipment.

“In some areas, the number of unit staff [Rusia]due to the consequences of fighting, less than 20 percent,” said spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Shtupun, Sunday (15/5), quoted from CNN.

“In the direction of Popasna, due to heavy losses and the inability to move independently, the Russian air forces are cooperating with representatives of Russian private military companies for further actions,” he said. Popasna itself is a city located in the Luhansk area.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military said Russian troops in the north and east of the city of Kharkiv were trying to maintain their positions to “prevent Ukrainian troops from advancing to the border”.

However, they are still shelling towns and villages that have recently been captured by Ukraine.

Not only that, a Ukrainian unit fighting north of Kharkiv also reportedly managed to reach the Russian border.

“President, we did it!” order the unit.

In recent days, Ukrainian troops have tried to move into areas north and east of Kharkiv.

Ukrainian officials last week also said they were working to free villages on the outskirts of the city.

Meanwhile, the war between Russia and Ukraine never ended. Since the invasion began in February, Russia has continued to try to control several cities in Ukraine.
