Russia has created its own super-platform for testing mobile applications. According to the authors, it allows you to make the testing process several times faster. The developer is Avito Tech, part of the Avito structure. The software helped the company itself reduce the time it takes to conduct tests by eight times, the company’s press service told URA.RU.
“In this market there is a great need for automation equipment and there are no offers from Russian manufacturers. Therefore, we decided to launch it on the external market,” commented Vadim Madison, director of development of the Avito platform.
According to a company representative, the product was initially created for internal use. Standard tools only allowed tests to be run on one device. When running a test on several devices, the developer had to constantly monitor the progress of the test on each of them separately, and then manually combine the data. Therefore, the task was to create a test runner that would allow combining data from tests running simultaneously on several devices.
As soon as such a platform was created, it was decided to bring it to an external audience. This, according to the authors, will allow domestic businesses to quickly bring new functionality to the market. Currently, Emcee is being tested in test mode by the online cinema Ivy, the Russian online travel service Tutu.ru, and the international fintech company Space307.
According to Avito technical director Maxim Sapronov, at the first stage it is planned to receive a contribution to the market – to test the software on end users and get feedback. And in the future, they want to bring the platform into the TOP 5 solutions for automated testing of mobile applications.
